Spirit
Jack Kerouac Tribute CD recorded to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the writing of On The Road.
Recorded at the Dove Cafe, in Lowell, Massachusetts, this CD is a compilation of original works by artists inspired by
the writings of Jack Kerouac.
Jack's friend and original musical collaborator, David Amram is joined by various practitioners of the spoken word, such
as Meg Smith reading Astronaut, and is himself featured throughout with his own commentary and rememberences of Jack. Other
musicians (Empty House Cooperative, Cactus Highway, and The Dave Norton Quartet), collaborate on several pieces with Lawrence
Carradini. And musicians, such as Bob Martin singing Stella Kerouac, add their tunes to make for a well rounded evening's
listening. Other artists included.
